How to Manage Subscriptions and Recurring Charges on Your Timon Card

If you're seeing unexpected charges on your card or need help managing subscriptions, you're not alone. Many users face challenges with recurring payments from merchants. Here’s what you need to know and do:

How Subscriptions Work

When you add your Timon card to a merchant's website (like Netflix, Apple, Amazon, etc.), you’re authorizing that merchant to charge your card automatically—either monthly, yearly, or based on their billing cycle.

Unless you manually cancel the subscription or remove your card from their platform, charges will continue—even if you’re no longer using the service.

Common Issues We’ve Noticed

  • Unwanted Charges: Users sometimes forget they signed up for a free trial or subscription and are surprised when charges begin.

  • Card Sharing: Some users share their card details with friends or family. Later on, they may not recognize new charges on their account.

  • Freezing Doesn’t Stop It: Freezing your card only pauses new transactions temporarily. It does not stop you from incurring declined charges due to a merchant trying to charge your card

What You Can Do

  1. Identify the Merchant: Check your transaction history to know which platform is charging your card.

  2. Cancel the Subscription:

    • Go to the merchant’s website or app.

    • Log in to your account.

    • Find “Billing” or “Subscriptions.”

    • Cancel the plan or remove your card.

  3. Delete the Card (if necessary):
If you're not sure who has access to your card or the charges keep coming:

    • Delete the current card from your Timon app.

    • Purchase a new card to ensure unwanted payments don’t continue.

? Stay Secure

Never share your card details, even with friends. Always keep track of where your card is added and cancel unused subscriptions on time.
